Chronically multiple well known publications close to the sources, state CEO’s often see their board as ill prepared. Contrasting, boards are viewed as overconfident in their CEO’s.
Curiously, the elephant in the room is never addressed: are CEO’s communicating this gap to their Boards? Is the board listening and responding?
Addtionally, are the CEO and Executive management incentives optimized?

And even though it has no authority or decision-making rights, it must exercise its influencing rights to inspire the CEO and be the go-to resource that gives him or her confidence to be a highly effective CEO.
